The E.P.I.C. Kawasaki Z7 rollout
E.P.I.C.
The new Kawasaki Z7 generation of wheel loaders feature brand-new patented technology and industry-exclusive innovations. Canvassing input from owners and operators from all over the world, Kawasaki has engineered the Z7 series from the ground up enabling the new range of loaders to become more Efficient, Powerful, Intelligent and Comfortable.
Efficient
The Z7 wheel loaders offer lower operating costs stemming from increased energy efficiencies, improved fuel economy and easier maintenance. All engines are carefully matched to the appropriate hydraulics and powertrain to maximise efficiency, shorten cycle times and increase productivity leading to fewer dollars spent and more dollars saved.
The Z7’s have easy access to areas requiring routine maintenance with most access points available at ground level. Significant changes to maintenance from previous versions include wide access engine doors and swing-out cooler cores, sight glasses for the transmission and hydraulic levels and fuelling being situated from ground level. Mayday Earthmoving, who recently acquired a Kawasaki 90Z7 commented “the impact of the new range of loaders is massive. From a production, fuel savings and maintenance costs standpoint, we’re confident the machines will provide us savings, in turn, delivering a better bottom line of profit.”
Powerful
The machines are designed with power in mind. Featuring impressive engine power, the Z7 range are built for optimal performance in tough conditions and respond with even more vigour when the “Quick P” button is applied. The Quick P button is a new feature with the Z7 range, located on the side of the bucket hydraulic control leaver it is designed to provide a temporary surge of power when required. Ideal for use in situations where extra grunt is required such as hill climbing or whenever additional rimpull is needed. If the operator needs continuous high power output, the selection of Power Mode is available.
The Z7’s are ideal for asphalt, quarry, sand and gravel applications. They also handle logging, scrap, refuse and recycling jobs with ease.
Intelligent
Built with intelligence and intuition in mind, the Z7’s patented IntelliTech suite of systems feature the ability to adjust the powertrain and hydraulics to current operating conditions.
IntelliDig, for example, reduces rimpull when the bucket is low, and gradually increases this force as the bucket comes up through the material. This speeds the loading cycle without wasting power and fuel. When the bucket is finished loading, IntelliDig increases the raise speed and shortens cycle time.
Another feature in the IntelliTech Operating System, called SimulLoad, automatically measures hydraulic power to the lift and tilt cylinders so both actions can happen simultaneously, while the loader is digging.
Comfortable
Fingertip easy, pilot-assisted hydraulic controls can be either single or dual lever. The adjustable arm console contains rocker switches for easy selection of controls.
The totally redesigned Z7 cab features a panoramic view of the front and sides, and a Kawasaki exclusive wide-stance Z-linkage placement for viewing loads between the two cylinders. There is a standard remote camera that displays what’s behind the loader whenever reverse is selected, with the image shown in the middle of the newly redesigned LCD instrument panel.
The cab features increased pressurisation and tighter insulation for a quieter, more dust-free environment. Thermostatically controlled AC temperatures keep the operator functioning at their best.
Z7’s hit our shores
Operating as Kawasaki’s exclusive Australian distributor of wheel loaders, Tutt Bryant Equipment partnered with Kawasaki have worked extensively to bring the new range of wheel loaders to Australia. It is an exciting time within the loader market with Kawasaki’s recent developments providing a competitive edge not previously seen before, Mark Ewan, Business Development Manager expresses “it’s wonderful to have these machines reach our shores. They are impressive in performance and I look forward to continuing the rollout of the Z7 range throughout the year.” When queried on the most significant improvement to the wheel loader range, Mark confirms that “the revamped hydraulics is what makes these machines so efficient and powerful.” Kawasaki has moved from a gear-driven hydraulic pump to a more fuel-efficient and flexible piston pump, allowing increased flexibility for the engine RPMs to match the hydraulic-force needs of the moment. The Z7 Range has an industry-exclusive open-centre, load-sensing hydraulic system – similar to those proven on hydraulic excavators.
Compared to closed systems found on competitive wheel loaders, Kawasaki’s open-centre system provides the operator real feel at the control lever. All models feature automotive-style pulse-width modulation shifting, which provides ultra-smooth shifting up and down as the loader moves through various cycles.
Tutt Bryant Equipment currently has available a number of new Z7 models in Australia including the 70Z7, 80Z7, 85Z7, 90Z7 and the latest addition, the 92Z7.
