The Company

Tutt Bryant Equipment is Australia’s leading multi franchised National Distributor of construction equipment in Australia. The business focus is on sales and marketing activities of our Product Portfolio, well supported by Spare Parts, Servicing and Maintenance departments.

An opportunity currently exists for an experienced Assistant Accountant to join a small but busy Finance Department supporting the Finance Manager with the day-to-day accounting requirements as well as meeting targeted deadlines around key reporting periods.

The Role

As the Assistant Accountant you will enjoy a varied role with the opportunity to utilise your accounting knowledge and experience. Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role will primarily be involved in all facets of Finance and Accounting functions and your key responsibilities will be, but not limited to:

• Day to day accounting functions
• Month end processes and reporting to trial balance stage
• Maintaining the fixed asset registers – accounting and tax.
• General ledger journals and reconciliations
• ·Preparation of the monthly BAS return
• Assisting in the preparation of FBT and other Statutory tax returns
• Assisting with internal and external audit requirements
• Handling enquiries from all internal support staff
• Documentation of procedures and process flows
• Ad hoc duties a required by the Finance Manager

The Candidate

To be considered for the role, you must possess 3 years + experience in an Assistant Accountant role and will possess the relevant Tertiary qualifications. You will also possess:

• Sound analytical and technical accounting skills
• Intermediate to Advanced computer skills – MS Office suite and ERP system skills (Microsoft D365)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with people at all levels across the business
• High level of attention to detail
• Ability to work unsupervised with a strong work ethic
