C-Rex Bucket Conversion

In May 2018 M & K Pipeline converted two of their Sumitomo SH330-5 buckets to the increasingly popular, new C-Rex R23 series GET system. After the buckets were converted, the excavator went to work on a construction site in Pittsworth Qld where the excavating conditions were particularly hard. The operators, Benny Osborne and Scott Fevrell said that when they started to use the converted bucket there was a significantly noticeable improvement on the digging performance. Material penetration was much better and the excavator did not bounce around as it did with the previous system. While no study has been done, this would indicate better production and possibly lowered fuel consumption as a minimum.

The operators also mentioned that the previous system was also prone to losing the occasional tooth which does not happen with the C-Rex system As can be seen from the picture, after more than three months actual operation the tooth wear is minimal which will result in significant improvement in tooth life over the previous system Gavin Kurtz, the contracts manager, stated that if he had his way “we would never use anything else” Bottom line – The C-Rex system is a premium product with a premium price but results in overall reduced cost and improved performance.

C-REX was designed with the focus on user friendliness, overall economy functional reliability and producing a system that is climate smart. To increase operation time for C-REX, the length of the teeth and proportion of wear material have been maximised. The adapters have also been reinforced to save costs for maintenance.
