Senior Group Financial Accountant

Tutt Bryant Group Limited is a multi-divisional organisation operating in Equipment Distribution, General Equipment Hire, Crane Hire and Specialist Lift Services. The Head Office is located in Sydney Olympic Park with Divisional operations throughout Australia.
The Role
In this role you will work closely with the Group Financial Controller together with the Finance & Commercial Managers responsible for each of the Divisional Operations. You will enjoy a varied role with the opportunity to contribute more broadly based on your skills and previous experience. Assisting in providing leadership amongst a small professional team in the Corporate Head Office you will primarily be involved with (but not limited to) the following responsibilities :
- Develops and prepares the monthly, quarterly and yearly group (local and international) consolidated financial results and reporting
- Preparation of consolidations and financial statements for the group in collaboration with the Group Financial Controller.
- To ensure appropriate application of IFRS and other accounting standards across the Group – including IFRS 16 and other areas of judgement.
- Prepare the covenant calculations for the group.
- Assistance in the preparation of Board and Executive Committee reports.
- Implementation of initiatives, analysis and decision support
- Technology innovation & systems development
- Special projects
- Drive improvement in the quality and timeliness of financial information reported to internal and external stakeholders.
- Risk Management, Internal Controls, Policy and Procedural improvements
- Contribute to the Budgeting and forecasting process.
- Liaising with external financial auditors.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be a qualified professional with strong technical and commercial accounting experience likely gained in public practice (possibly but not essential) and be able to demonstrate a subsequent successful career progression to a similar senior Finance role in a medium to large commercial organisation. A high calibre first mover from public practice will however also be considered.
You should have the ability to communicate well and the confidence & motivation to network with personnel at all levels throughout our businesses together with our other key stakeholders. A strong team player with a professional work ethic, commercial awareness and a hands-on style are important attributes sought.
