State Operations Manager
Tutt Bryant Heavy Lift & Shift is a multi-disciplined cranes, heavy lifting, heavy haulage, and specialised transport and lifting company that operates nationally in Australia.
We own and operate one of the largest crawler crane fleets in Australia supporting clients in the mining, resources, construction, infrastructure and industrial sectors. Our specialised transport team is an industry-leading unit that services major clients requiring ultra-heavy and oversized load movements.
Tutt Bryant Heavy Lift & Shift is currently seeking to appoint an experienced State Operations Manager to lead and manage our business in Queensland. This role will also have managerial responsibilities over our activities in Queensland.
Reporting to the General Manager, the State Operations Manager will work to ensure that business and financial objectives are met. This role will drive all aspects of the operation with full responsibility for business planning, customer relations, asset and people management, financial management, policies and procedures (including but not limited to health and safety) and other commercial and corporate functions.
What will you be responsible for?
- Customer coverage in the Northeastern states of Australia
- Assist in preparation and submission of quotations and tenders
- Contract Management ensuring compliance to all contractual terms (including managing variations and the submission and review of payment/RCTI claims)
- Resource planning and allocation (including logistics co-ordination and scheduling)
- Business expansion and diversification
- Managing and coordinating a team of people ensuring all work complies with customer requirements and company policies
- Coordinating and managing systems, particularly in relation to Quality and OHS&E
- Monthly customer Invoicing / Revenue Forecasting
- Budget preparations and provide inputs to reforecasts of Budget during the financial year
- Reporting on financial status of business division
- Providing technical support and high levels of customer service both internally & externally
- Fleet management (including equipment status reporting)
What will you need to have?
- At least 2-3 years of operations or general management experience, preferably in the crane or haulage industries.
- Demonstrable ability to lead, manage, train, motivate and develop staff
- Very good communication, planning and organisational skills
- High level problem solving capabilities with a ‘can do’ attitude
- The ability to work as part of a team and autonomously
- Experience in managing basic office systems and procedures
- Proficient computing skills – MS Office suite of applications.
- Major construction industry experience is desirable
- Strong work ethic
- Previous Contract Management
