Systems Administrator – Level 3
The Company
Tutt Bryant Group Limited is a multi-Divisional organisation operating in Equipment Distribution, General Equipment Hire, Crane Hire and Specialist Lift. This group level role will focus on providing solutions to meet the growing development requirements of the business.
The Role
Reporting to the CIO, you will enjoy a varied role with the opportunity to utilise your skill and experience as part of a professional team. As part of this position, you will have oversight over the smooth operation and performance of our critical IT infrastructure that supports our Divisions.
Some of your key accountabilities will be to:
- Administer, monitor, and manage physical and virtual IT infrastructure on premise and remotely.
- Manage, monitor, test, and improve backup and restoration processes.
- Oversee routine patch management for a fleet of virtual servers, network, compute and storage systems.
- Monitor and manage on-premises and Cloud-based storage utilisation.
This role is responsible for providing Level 3 support, assisting with system and company infrastructure and services. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Excellent Microsoft platform expertise including but not limited to Active Directory, Group Policy, Office 365, Intune, hybrid on-premise and cloud / Azure based solutions.
- Familiarity with enterprise network, wireless, server and storage hardware platforms including but not limited to HPE, EMC/Dell, Cisco, Meraki, Aruba, Velocloud, Riverbed.
- Experience in administration and configuration of backup solutions Commvault and Avepoint.
- Provide expert administration, configuration, and support for a wide range of IT systems.
- Proactively identify and troubleshoot system issues, minimising downtime and ensuring optimal system performance.
- Work with Security Analyst to implement and maintain robust security practices to safeguard our IT infrastructure from cyber threats.
- Manage system upgrades, migrations, new site provisioning and innovative technology initiatives.
- Collaborate effectively with other members of IT to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.
- Document technical processes and procedures for future reference and knowledge transfer.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our IT service delivery through automation and scripting.
Skills and attributes
Key Requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Systems Administrator in an enterprise environment.
- Demonstrated expertise in Windows Server administration, Active Directory, and Group Policy.
- Demonstrated expertise of Vmware systems administration and configuration.
- Proficient in network administration principles and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Excellent knowledge of security best practices and experience with security tools.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Tertiary qualification in Information Technology or a relevant field (highly regarded)
- Be a self-starter with a hands-on approach.
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with people at all levels across the business.
- Possess a strong team spirit and professional work ethic.
- Strong documentation skills and attention to detail
- Ability to communicate and deliver plans and requirements to users.
- Ability to evaluate and challenge functional and technical requirements and design.
- Strong ability with projects and seeing them through.
