Pro Crush is the largest Metso Lokotrack owner in Australia, bases its operations in Burleigh on the Gold Coast and started as a local family owned business. They specialise in mobile crushing and screening for the construction and mining industries. They own and operate a large modern fleet of crushers, screens and other equipment with most of the equipment purchased new. The company’s growth and success is attributed to a ‘hands on’ approach to running the business which includes working closely with staff and maintaining close contact with their customer base.
Pro Crush has a crew with experience in crushing and all associated applications that spans over 20 years combined experience. This includes dealing with councils and civil contractors, to quarry operations and international miners. They have an adaptive attitude and pride themselves on the ability to work closely with the customer.
Pro Crush will endeavour to put together the most competitive package for your crushing requirements. Their crushing plant is EPA licensed throughout Queensland. The crushing plants are transportable and can be relocated as required. Pro Crush has an expanding fleet of crushing and screening machines working for several large companies both in the Quarrying and Mining fields. Pro Crush Director Richard Hill, engaged Tutt Bryant Equipment’s Qld/NT Account Manager Darrell Porter, to assist with understanding what flexible crushing equipment options were available to him. After looking at numerous options, Richard decided that the LT220D would be a good fit for his current contracts. Lokotrack® LT220D™ is a new innovative way to combine crusher and screen onto the same chassis.
The LT220D can be equipped with either proven and powerful Nordberg® GP220™ cone crushers. A large 8.4 m2 (10 yd2) screen provides high capacity as well as excellent screening efficiency. By combining the Lokotrack LT220D with a LT106™ primary jaw crushing plant you can produce up to 3 calibrated end products using just two plants. The Intelligent Metso IC™ process control system ensures safe and reliable control of the crushing process.
The LT220D provides a saving on not only transport cost but once on site there is a reduction in running costs. This is due to the machines’ Cone crusher and screen being powered by a single engine, rather than two engines as it is done with separate cone &
screen machines. This provide further servicing costs compared to two engines as only one machine requires servicing, fuelling and pre-start checks and inspections.
The proprietary Metso Interconnection on the Lokotracks, enables the ability to link all the machines in the crushing train. This ensures the smooth running and maximises the production. Richard also likes the Metrics feature, where he can remotely access
information about the running of the crusher from hours running to alarms and setting changes.
Richard was looking to purchase a cone to closed circuit with an existing screen on a project that he had on the Sunshine Coast making road base products. TBE’s Darrell Porter, suggested the LT220D which proved to be a success and consequently freed up the existing screen to go to another contract. Richard likes the fuel economy and time saving that the LT220D provides. A further benefit of the LT220D is that it has a quick set up time which means ProCrush is able to spend more time crushing which increases productivity and reduces unit rate costs. The machine has been moved several times since its purchase in the production of concrete aggregates, such is its flexibility.
Richard said, “My experience with the LT220D has been very positive and I am currently considering purchasing the next model up, the LT330D, to add this to our fleet as a solution for larger contracts”.
