Tutt Bryant and Clontarf East Kimberley Experience
In June 2023, the Clontarf East Kimberley Academy hosted an Experience for a small group of Clontarf partners, which was attended by our Managing Director, Chen Wei Ng.
Based in Kununurra’s East Kimberley College, the Clontarf East Kimberley Academy has three local staff members who support 105 participants attending Years 5 to 12.
Across five days spent in and around Kununurra, the group participated in a range of activities, including a 10km fun run (which turned out to be the Kununurra’s half-marathon!), cruising Lake Argyle, barramundi fishing across the border in NT, and camping at the majestic El Questro.
Throughout the Experience, they were joined by the bright young boys from the East Kimberley Academy. One of the nights saw a group of Clontarf alumni gather with the partners for a BBQ dinner, which was a heart-warming occasion to see those young men at the beginning of their careers and even becoming fathers themselves to nurture the next generation.
Another thing that left an indelible mark was the opportunity to observe the tireless and selfless work of the Clontarf staff. Starting from early morning pickups, organising footy training before class, cooking big nourishing meals, driving everyone between activities and campsites, and setting up to packing away at the end of long days – the staff showed genuine care, and exuded infectious and positive energy throughout.
The love and respect shown by the boys back to the staff were palpable, which was wholesome and incredible to witness in person.
The Clontarf program has delivered genuine changes and continues to improve the outcomes for the boys. Tutt Bryant is proud to stand alongside Clontarf, championing one child at a time.
