Tutt Bryant secures the Hunter Regions largest mining contract.

Tutt Bryant Heavy Lift & Shift (TBHL&S) are pleased to announce the securing of a 3-year contract with BHP Billiton, Mt Arthur Coal (the client) for the supply of cranage, heavy haulage and general hire. This is the largest contract of its type supporting the mining industry in the Hunter Valley. By way of execution of a new “transition plan”, TBHL&S’ local branch based in Muswellbrook guaranteed several improvements to key services and operational readiness by the client’s expected go-live date.

Key areas of focus for TBHL&S was their innovative approach to operational excellence and their ability to operate as a “one-stop-shop” offering further savings and efficiencies to the client. In-depth analysis of the data provided around historical volumes of work and a proposed and improved onsite ‘Core Fleet’ had significant bearing considering TBHL&S’ approach differed from what they thought was required for their operational excellence. The concept was welcomed by the client with positive feedback given by their Supply and Operational Leaders for the innovative ‘outside the box’ thinking.

TBHL&S’ strength to operate as a ‘one-stop-shop’ for the client also played a major part in the tender process. Whilst TBHL&S do not provide general hire services, their sister division Tutt Bryant Hire specialise in this industry. In providing a solution for the client, both divisions will work in conjunction with each other providing cranage, heavy haulage and general hire services respectively. The “one-stop-shop” method allows for single and seamless booking and administration of hire services for the client, an approach no other applicant was able to provide.
